Memphis Greek Festival
As young woman, Margaret Cotros visited a Birmingham, Alabama Greek church during their Greek Pastry sale. She came back to Memphis and said, "We're going to do this!" Margaret saw the enjoyment that people had tasting delicious Greek pastries, so she decided that the Memphis Greek community should also host a Greek Pastry Sale. What started as a small pastry sale many years ago has evolved into a Mid-South tradition that over 12,000+ people attend each May.
Dating back to 1958, the Greek Festival offers the heritage, culture, food, and faith of Greece to the Memphis community. Margaret Cotros, along with her husband Harry, whose names you will see dedicated on our beautifully renovated fellowship hall, believed in each of these qualities, just as the members of this church believe.
We thank you for coming to our festival and hope that you enjoy being Greek for the day, but, most of all, we hope you have fun making memories with your family and friends!
2018 was our 60th Annual Memphis Greek Festival. The early years were just pastry sales. We had sales of $500 the first year. Today, we have over 12,000 attendees over two days.
